HAIR

We were lucky enough to be invited last week to see the new musical HAIR on at the Gielgud Theatre. We have to say if you have never seen HAIR it is a rollacoaster ride of known and not so known tunes. The energy throughout by the cast was superb and the impromptu walking and talking at the crowd moments really worked well with the audience interaction. Saying that the plot as has always been noted was non-existent but the final scene still is very emotive. I would say 10/10 for performance and effort, and an overall 7/10 for the production. So get your flowing, flower infused locks down and trip out to HAIR!

Musicali says goodbye to actor Meinhardt Raabe, who played the Munchkin coroner in The Wizard Of Oz.

He was one of nine Munchkins to have had a speaking part in Oz. The actor, who was 1.37m tall and aged 94, was one of the last surviving Munchkins. His most famous line: “As coroner I must aver, I thoroughly examined her. And she’s not only merely dead. She’s really most sincerely dead.”
